Magistrate List Cut From 23 To 16 Due To Residency Issue

There are 16 applicants for the two vacant positions for magistrate instead of 23, officials said Tuesday.

It was found that seven of the applicants do not live within Hamilton County. That is a requirement.

The County Commission will schedule a time to interview the applicants.

Deborah Ruth Haney was sentenced on Monday to serve 63 in federal prison for selling meth. She appeared before Judge Sandy Mattice.
