The Chattanooga Music Teachers Association will meet on Oct. 10 at 9:30 a.m. at Crutcher Pianos,  Lee Highway at Highway 153.  

Kimberly Keck, music professor at Bryan College will speak on "Don't Sit Still, Get Moving and Learn."  

Ms. Keck, assistant professor of Music, is in her seventh year of teaching at Bryan College where she is the director of the Bryan Opera Theatre, Women's Chorus, teaches Applied Voice and Music Education related courses. She earned a Master of Music degree from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville in Vocal Performance with an emphasis in Opera. Mrs. Keck is currently pursuing a Doctor of Musical Arts from Boston University in Music Education. She resides in Dayton with her husband, Steve, and four children.

The public is invited free of charge.

Woman Arrested In Murder Of Eric Burchfield In Hixson; Mother Of Victim Said, "Ember Killed Him"

A woman has been arrested in the murder of 28-year-old Eric Burchfield in Hixson early Friday morning. Police identified her as Ember Lee Cash Elm. She was booked as Emily Leanne Brooks Johnson, 26, of 4024 Woodmont Dr. At 3:25 a.m., Chattanooga Police responded to a person who had been shot at the Kangaroo Express at 4849 Hixson Pike.
