The Chattanooga Music Teachers Association will meet on Oct. 10 at 9:30 a.m. at Crutcher Pianos,  Lee Highway at Highway 153.  

Kimberly Keck, music professor at Bryan College will speak on "Don't Sit Still, Get Moving and Learn."  

Ms. Keck, assistant professor of Music, is in her seventh year of teaching at Bryan College where she is the director of the Bryan Opera Theatre, Women's Chorus, teaches Applied Voice and Music Education related courses. She earned a Master of Music degree from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville in Vocal Performance with an emphasis in Opera. Mrs. Keck is currently pursuing a Doctor of Musical Arts from Boston University in Music Education. She resides in Dayton with her husband, Steve, and four children.

The public is invited free of charge.


GNTC To Hold Open Gym Workouts, Cheer Cats Tryouts

Wintjen Places Second In AWS Welding Competition

Tennessee College of Applied Technology welding student Tim Wintjen won second place at the eighth annual American Welding Society Welding Competition for the Chattanooga section. The mission of AWS is to advance science, technology, and application of welding and allied joining and cutting processes worldwide. Tim competed with sixty other students and apprentices. Boyd Says Visitors Bureau Spending $25,000 A Month On Travel; Doak Agrees To Meeting

County Commission Finance Committee Chairman Tim Boyd on Wednesday said the Chattanooga Visitors Bureau regularly spends about $25,000 per month on travel. He said that was "one of the first items that caught my eye" after he said he got "an inch thick" packet from Auditor Jenneth Randall about CVB finances.
