Eunice Marie Smith, 84, of Pikeville, TN, died at her home on Sunday, September 22, 2013.
Ms. Eunice was a Godly woman, who enjoyed cooking, playing with her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and even great-great grandchildren. She wasan advocate for volunteerism. She spent countless hours volunteering for the American Cancer Society, the American Red Cross, and the Bledsoe Historical Society. She was a member of Winesap FWB Church, but recently had been attending Faith Baptist Church as well. Eunice collected ornaments, rocks, and patches from her many travels.
Eunice was born on January 10, 1929 in Madisonville, TN., to the late John and Lula Watson; and was also preceded in death by her brothers, Roman and Doil Watson; sisters, Laura Colquitt and Anas Johnson; and a grandson, Ivan Smith.
She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Beecher Smith; children, Melvin (Charlotte) Smith, Sharon (Denny) Woodsmall, Shelia Stone, Alan Smith, Gwen (Darryl) Woodall and Angela (Phillip) Hankins; grandchildren, Bobby (Angela) Angel, Christy (Bobby) Hearne, Joann (Joey) Simmons, Monica (Ronald) Blankenship, Shauna (Nick) Patton, Marie Watts, Candace (Raymond) Reel, Michael (Jessica) Hannah, Amanda Smith, Adrian, Dylan, and Cameron Hankins; great-grandchildren, Clarissa Burgess, Tosh and Michael Kean, Garrett and Aylee Angel, Dewayne Oliver, Grace and Jesse Blankenship, Gage and Chase Smith, Tristan and Makayla Simmons, Beranda and Will Watts, Jace Campbell, Devin, Jacob, and Brooke Patton, Brianna, Elijah, Sarah, and Jackson Reel and Lilliah Hannah; great-great- grandchildren, Rylee Eikel, Eden Kean and Lucas Smith; numerous nieces and nephews; and many dear friends.
A Celebration of Eunice’s life will be held on Thursday, September 26, at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel with Bro. Hubert Davis and Bro. Doyle Ashburn officiating. Burial will be in the Beecher and Eunice Smith Family Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 8 a.m.– 8 p.m. on Wednesday, September 25 at the Pikeville Funeral Home who has charge of the arrangements.
