The 25th anniversary celebration of Covenant Presbyterian Church, 8451 East Brainerd Road, will be Sunday, beginning at 9:30 a.m. with a worship service.
There will be no Sunday School. Dinner on the grounds will follow the service.
Around 1:15 p.m., "Remembering CPC: 25 Years", will be held in the sanctuary. Dr. Rob Rayburn will be the special guest speaker for both services.
Dr. Rayburn and his wife, Florence are special people to many in the congregation and to the presbytery. He has been the senior pastor of Faith Presbyerian Church in Tacoma, Wa., since 1978. A graduate of Covenant College and a classmate of Covenant's pastor, Dr. Render Caines, they have served together on the Covenant Collge board for nearly 25 years. His father was the founder and first president of Covenant College.
As part of the anniversary, there will be a golf outing on Friday at Nob North. Registration is necessary and tee times are at 1:04 p.m.
The October Men's Breakfast will also be part of the anniversary celebration on Saturday, at 8:30 a.m. Dr. Rayburn will speak on "Leaders, Lovers and Limpers."
In honor of the anniversary, puzzles with a picture of the church are available outside Mark Wilson's office. We are asking a minimum donation of $30 per puzzle, but will welcome larger contributions. All donations will go to the building fund to help retire the debt.
