The Adult Fellowship at Signal Mountain Baptist Church, 939 Ridgeway Ave., will meet at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 3, for dinner at the home of Wanda Albritton, 1211 Rocky Dell Lane. Reservations are requested but not required.
 
A Women's Book Study, "God: As He Longs For You to See Him ," by Chip Ingram will begin Sunday, Oct.
6, at 7 p.m., facilitated by Lizzy Schmidt.
 
Dr. Steven Wright will speak at the 11 a.m. worship service this Sunday, on "Following Jesus Means Recognizing Our Opposition," with text from II Corinthians 10:3-6.

Monserrate Ferrer, the 16 year old who was shot in East Ridge on Friday, has died. Investigators will meet early next week with the Hamilton County District Attorney's Office to discuss the case.
