Mary Irene Teems, 85, of Summerville, Georgia, died on Tuesday, September 3, 2013 after a brief illness.
Mrs. Teems was born September 14, 1927 in Robinsville, NC, the daughter of the late Terrell E. Dyer and Callie L. Milsap Dyer. She was a member of Berryton Baptist Church. She was formerly employed with Georgia Glove and was a van driver for Look Out Mountain Services. Mrs. Teems was preceded in death by her husband, Lewis Ervin Teems.
Survivors include a son, Terry Teems and his wife, Melanie Teems; daughters, Carol Rhinehart and her husband, Steve Rhinehart, Kathy Gentry and her husband, Johnny Gentry; brother, T. E. Dyer; sisters, Effie Brooks and Hazel Hall; grandchildren, Rodney Yarbrough, Tony Hughes, Keitha Zuniga, Karen Adams, Blake Gentry, Austyn Gentry and Taeler Teems; great grandchildren, Zachary Hughes, McKenzie Hughes, Jacob Zuniga, Kendal Zuniga, Noah Gentry, Lucas Adams, Katie Price, Justin Yarbrough, and Dawson Yarbrough.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 5, at Berryton Baptist Church with Reverend David Pettyjohn and Rev. Mickey Skates officiating. Burial will follow in Summerville Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Zachary Hughes, Tony Hughes, Taeler Teems, Austyn Gentry, Blake Gentry, Brandon Adams, and Wayne Blansit. Honorary pallbearers will be all Staff Members of Redmond Regional Medical Center ICU and Fourth Floor, and the Staff of Oakview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Mrs. Teems will be in state at Mason Funeral Home and the family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 4.
