Dalton State Claims First Volleyball Win

The brand new Dalton State athletic program has captured the school’s first victory. 

The Lady Roadrunner volleyball team (1-4) came away from Truett-McConnell Tuesday night with an impressive 3-0 victory over the hosts (0-1). 

“It was a total team effort,” said DS Coach Bruna Langer as her excited team celebrated behind her. “The setters, passers, and the hitters all excelled.”

Dalton State captured the first game 25-20. They followed with a dominating 25-9 win in the second set. Then, they wrapped up the victory with 25-19 win. 

The Lady Roadrunners now have some time off before traveling up to Lookout Mountain, GA. on Friday, September 13, for a match with Covenant College.

The closest contest of the young season is set to begin at 7:00 p.m.

Dalton Golf Team Wins All-Academic Award

The Golf Coaches Association of America announced Wednesday (July 30) that the Dalton State men’s golf team is All-Academic for 2014.
