Allstate Agent Heather Napier of The Down Home Agency in Chickamauga, partnered with T.C. Thompson Children’s Hospital at Erlanger to provide a $1,000 grant for clothing to pediatric patients.

“Allstate has been a great asset to the hospital’s Safe and Sound Program in providing support to our community programs,” said Coy Ellis, RN, Kohl’s Safe and Sound program coordinator.  “Receiving this grant allows us to fulfill an important need to the children treated at our hospital.”

Many children who arrive at Children’s Hospital do not have proper clothing to return home to after discharge.  Their clothes may have been damaged in an accident or while they received medical care, either at the accident site or in the emergency room.

“When we provide clothing to our patients when they leave the hospital, our staff has to ensure the items are clean and free from any wear and tear,” explained Ellis.  “Thanks to Heather, the Allstate grant and the assistance from our local Kohl’s Department Stores, we were able to get the most from the grant money to purchase new clothes and restock the Children’s Hospital clothes closet.”

Roy Exum: Arnold Palmer’s Greatness

This is hardly meant to be flippant but I’d be willing to bet I’ve been in the presence of more great people than anyone you know. I’ve never ranked them, or ever dared to wonder who was the greatest, such as Muhammad Ali or Elvis Presley, but there are two traits that those who reach the highest pinnacle have in common. First, not a one of them was any good at what made them famous ... (click for more)
