Calling Ahead Of Time Now? - And Response

Wednesday, September 4, 2013

I am sitting here watching our Congressmen talk to the powers to be about going into Syria. Now, don't get me wrong, I am not at all for doing it. I think we should let them kill each other if that is what they want.

My question is, these days do we call up someone and say, Hey, on next Wednesday at noon we will be flying over your land dropping some bombs.

Is this what conflict has come to?

What happened to the element of surprise? Bush never told everyone before hand. Now that there is a different party in power, we now have to hold hearings on TV and let them know we are coming.

Melvin Gillilan

* * *

For the record, Bush got not only authorization from Congress for the use of military force in Afghanistan and Iraq - but the UN as well.

On Sept. 14, 2001, The only member of either house of Congress to vote against military force in Afghanistan was Barbara Lee, D-CA.

On October 11, 2002, both houses of Congress had approved military force in Iraq.  Nearly 70% of the members of the U.S. House voted for the resolution - 77 of the 100 U.S. Senators did as well.

Therefore - Mr. Gillilan's  statement, "Bush never told everyone before hand" is totally incorrect.

As a constituent of Congressman Scott Desjarlais, I must respectfully disagree with Mr. Exum. Mr. Exum insinuated him to be one of the worst representatives in Washington. However, those in Scott Dejarlais' district, of which Mr. Exum is not, calls him one of the best, if not the best in Washington. That is why he was re-elected.  Joey Blevins Conservative ... As I thought about tomorrow, I asked myself this question: "What is Thanksgiving for?"  For some, it is simply a break from work. For others, it is a time to gather with friends or family or both, to enjoy one another's company and our favorite foods, and to give thanks for the many blessings we've enjoyed.  Thanksgiving encompasses all of those things, but for me ... Joseph Goetz Outruns Alan Outlaw For Turkey Trot Title

It wasn’t as cold as it’s been in years past, but the temperature and overall conditions for the 2015 running of the Turkey Trot 8K at the Sports Barn East were almost perfect.
