Traffic was snarled on Highway 27 at Soddy Daisy on Wednesday night after a plumbing service van  crashed into a ditch.

Following the 7 p.m. accident, Soddy Daisy Police blocked the highway across from Walgreens as Yates Wrecker removed the van.

The ditch was underlaid by high pressure natural gas lines.

Yates Wrecker Service was called and lifted out the van.

The driver was transported to a nearby hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Traffic was detoured for over an hour as workers safely removed the van.
