One person is dead in an officer-involved shooting in Jasper, Tn., TBI officials said.
The incident happened Saturday on Lock and Dam Road in Jasper.
A suspect who was confronted by deputies and he ran into some woods. Authorities said he pointed a gun, then he was shot by one of the deputies.
The medical examiner is conducting an autopsy.
The officer was not injured.
The TBI said the man who was killed had been in an altercation with another person.
The TBI will turn the case over to the DA after its investigation.
