Erlanger rang in the New Year with first and second baby born in Chattanooga

Rene and Gilda Arevalo of Chattanooga welcomed their new baby boy into the world at 12:17 a.m.  Evan Arevalo is 22 inches long and weighs 9 pounds 3 ounces.  Both mom and baby are doing well.

This is not the only member in the family to have a winter birthday.  In fact, Evan's 8-year-old sister, Emely, was born on Dec. 29 and Gilda's birthday is on Dec.

Not too far behind Evan was the second baby born in Chattanooga at Erlanger East.  Carry and Trey Hicks, from Apison have a new baby girl.  Tenley Hicks was born at 2:53 a.m., weighing 7 pounds 14 ounces and is 21 inches long.

Crandall, Ga., Man Gets 15 Years In Prison, 15 Years Probation After Wreck That Killed Couple On Motorcycle

A Crandall, Ga., man whose vehicle crossed the center line and killed a couple on a motorcycle has been sentenced 15 years in prison followed by 15 years on probation.   Gary Robert Cooper, 60, of 2205 Jim Petty Road, entered a guilty plea and was sentenced on two counts of vehicular homicide, driving under the influence and driving while license suspended.  ...
