A UTC student has been charged by UTC Police with stealing items from fellow students.

William Michael Kennedy, 21, who is from Murfreesboro, was charged with aggravated burglary and theft.

A report says on Sunday that two male students who live in campus housing on Oak Street reported items missing over the winter break. There was no sign of forced entry and the doors were locked when they returned from the break.

One of the students said his key went missing on Dec. 9 when Kennedy was a guest at the apartment.

Items missing were an X-Box 360 game console system, a Vizio 22" monitor and a printer/copier/scanner. Also missing was a 32" Apex TV.

The report says Kennedy pawned some of the items on Dec. 10 at EZ Pawn at 3601 Rossville Blvd.

Kennedy is a former state wrestling champion who was recruited to wrestle at UTC. He is no longer on the UTC wrestling team.
