Free College Financial Aid Workshop Is Jan. 25

PEF and partners will host a free college financial aid workshop, "College Goal Tennessee 2014," on Saturday, Jan. 25, from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. at the UTC University Center at 615 McCallie Ave.   

High school students, parents and educators are invited to learn how students can succeed in college and how to apply for financial aid. There will be volunteers on site to help fill out Free Application for Student Aid forms - the federal financial aid form that students/parents are required to file for students to be eligible to receive any state or federal aid.

A free lunch will be provided, so participants must register at http://youngandwiser.org. 

This free workshop is sponsored by PEF, UTC, Young & Wiser, Inc., College Goal Tennessee & Southern Association for College Admission Counseling.

Grand Opening Of New UTC Library Is Thursday

The new UTC library has been open since students returned this semester, but the official grand opening for the facility is Thursday. 6,533 Apply For Chattanooga Housing Authority Voucher Program

The Chattanooga Housing Authority closed its Housing Choice Voucher Program application process Monday at 11:59 p.m. There were 6,533 applicants. CHA will randomly select 1,000 of those names on Monday, for the voucher program waiting list. Times Free Press Pays Bonuses, Has Layoffs

The Chattanooga Times Free Press told employees on Monday that the newspaper had improved financial performance over the prior year quarters and employees were receiving two percent bonuses.
