Barnes, Mary Lois Willingham (Summerville)

Mary Lois Willingham Barnes, age 89, of Summerville, Georgia, died on Thursday, January 2, 2014 at Oakview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Mrs. Barnes was born March 27, 1924 in Summerville. She was the daughter of the late William Arthur Willingham and Lydia Cash Willingham. Mrs. Barnes was a homemaker. 

Other than her parents, she was preceded in death her husband, Buddy Barnes; daughter, Patricia Carroll; granddaughter, Lisa Hunter; sisters, Mable Johnson, Annie May Dempsey, and Jessie Rhinehart; brothers, Wilburn Willingham, Arthur Willingham, Blue Willingham, and L.D. Willingham.

Survivors include her daughter, Pam McCarty; sons and daughters-in-law, Hank and Barbara Barnes, Mike and Angie Barnes, and Dennis Barnes; 13 grandchildren; and 32 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 4, at Mason Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Kevin Norton officiating. Burial will follow in Greenhills Memory Garden. Active pallbearers will be grandsons, Bryan Hunter, Anthony Barnes, Jeff Shaver, Steven Shaver, Lance Carroll, and Robbie Carroll. Honorary pallbearers are Kenny Phillips and the Staff of Oakview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Mrs. Barnes will be in state at Mason Funeral Home and the family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 3.
