Three people were shot in two separate incidents overnight, including a 13-year-old boy who was killed at his home. The victim was Deontrey Suthers, an 8th grader at East Lake Academy.

He was shot in the chest.

Family members said he was not the intended target of shots fired from outside the home.

Funeral arrangements for him are by John P. Franklin Funeral Home, 1101 Dodds Ave.

The fatal shooting was just before midnight in the 1500 block of East 50th Street. The investigation is ongoing and more information will be released when available.

An earlier shooting in which two people suffered non-life-threatening injuries was around 9:40 p.m. at the Central Avenue address. Terri Marsh sustained a single gunshot wound to her stomach and Willie Marsh sustained a single gunshot wound to his left leg. The victims were transported to a local hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.
