Mitch McClure Speaks On Compassion Sunday

Middle Valley Church of God, at 1703 Thrasher Pike in Hixson, announces that Pastor Mitch McClure will speak on the topic, "Compassion And Care Should Be Standard Practice" in the 10:30 a.m. service on Sunday.  The sermon continues his latest sermon series on 'Moving Along Towards God'.  The message will focus on the need for Christians to demonstrate a spirit of compassion as they care for those around them.   

Pastor McClure will lead the congregation in a time of prayer and Bible reading in the 6:30 a.

m. service on Sunday.  This will be a continuation of the participation by the congregation in the READ Initiative of the Church of God. 

Each Wednesday at 7 p.m. classes are made available for all age groupings.  At the present time, Pastor McClure is leading a Bible study based on "The Utter Relief Of Holiness" by John Eldredge in the administrative classroom.  The community is invited to participate in all services of Middle Valley Church of God.

Man Barges Into Woman's Home In MLK Neighborhood; Tries To Rape Her; Photos Of Suspect Released

Chattanooga Police said a man barged into a woman's home in the MLK Neighborhood around noon on Tuesday and tried to rape the woman.   Police said, "The victim was followed by the suspect into her residence where the victim was then attacked. Moccasin Bend Resident Asks City To Move Police Firing Range So He Can Open Bed And Breakfast Inn

A Moccasin Bend resident is asking the city to move a police firing range from off the historic Bend so he can open a bed and breakfast inn.
