Rodney Southers is facing federal authorities after police found bullets in his coat pocket when he was arrested last Tuesday on an outstanding arrest warrant for domestic assault.
Southers, 29, was arrested at 5256 Usher Dr.
As officers conducted a search of Southers, they discovered 17 rounds of Steer Luger hollow-point 9mm ammunition on him.
Authorities said Southers previously had been convicted of several felony offenses, including robbery and attempted robbery convictions in 2000, as well as an aggravated robbery conviction in 2003.
He was charged with being a felon in possession of ammunition.
