Jeri Norris
Jeri L. McGriff Norris, 71, of Rossville, Georgia, died on Monday morning, January 27, 2014 in a local hospital.
Jeri was truly the world’s best wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She will be truly missed.
She was a 1960 graduate of Rossville High School and a member of Epsilon Sigma Alpha Sorority. Mrs. Norris was a Christian and a member of the Fairview Baptist Church and the Vota Vita Sunday School Class where she served as Secretary and Social Chairman.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James Melvin McGriff and Colaquie Ludell Pope.
Jeri is survived by her husband, Jack Norris; daughter, Kim (Joe) Proctor; sons, Chip (Kim) Carter and Tony (Teresa) Norris; grandchildren, Andy Carter and Katie Carter; brother, Jim McGriff of Lake City, Fl.; and sister, Eula Mae (Bill) Martin of Murfreesboro, Tn.; many cousins, nieces, nephews and a host of special friends, including Doris Hasty, Frankie McKay and Merrie Lynn Youngblood.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, Jan. 31, at 11:30 a.m. in the South Crest Chapel with Pastor Jim Bennett officiating. Burial will be at the Mountain View Church of God Cemetery, Bryant, Al., with Bobby McKay, T.J. Newsom, Danny Tribble, Wink Baker, Luke McKay, Trey Presswood, and Jerry Garrison serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be the members of the Vota Vita Sunday School Class.
