Lee Baseball Games Scheduled For Pensacola Postponed

Snow and icy conditions all the way down to the Pensacola, Fla. area has forced the basketball games scheduled between Lee and the University of West Florida on Thursday, Feb. 30, to be postponed. A make-up date will be announced later.

With temperatures predicted to rise the remainder of the week, Lee's Gulf South games at Valdosta State will be played as scheduled on Saturday, Feb. 1, at 6 and 8 p.m.

County Commission Told To Fully Fund County Schools Improvement Request Would Take 28 1/2-Cent Property Tax Increase; 78 School Personnel Would Be Added

County Mayor Jim Coppinger told members of the County Commission at a budget workshop on Tuesday that it would take a 28 1/2-cent property tax increase to fully fund the county school budget request.
