Balanced Body Yoga Celebrates Grand Opening On Jan. 17

Balanced Body Yoga will celebrate its grand opening on January 17 at 1:30 p.m. The business is at 8513 Hixson Pike, Suite E in Hixson. The Chattanooga Area Chamber of Commerce is coordinating the
event.

The new yoga studio offers all levels yoga for all bodies. Not just for the flexible or fit, yoga strikes the
balance of strength and flexibility. Beginners are welcome and encouraged with no intimidation. Serving
Hixson, North Hixson, Soddy Daisy and surrounding areas, the studio is conveniently located across from BiLo/Arby’s in Dallas Bay. Flow, Power Flow, Hatha and Yin/Yang classes are offered six days per week in 1000 square feet of practice space.

Class schedule is as follows:

Monday and Wednesday: 8 a.m., 12 p.m.and 6 p.m.
Tuesday and Thursday: 8 a.m., 10 a.m. and 6 p.m.
Friday: 8 a.m. and 12 p.m.
Saturday: 8 a.m., 10 a.m., 12 p.m.
The studio is currently closed on Sundays

Supreme Court Upholds Rape Of A Child Conviction

The Tennessee Supreme Court has upheld the conviction of a Memphis man for rape of a child, ruling that a prosecution error in the trial did not deprive the defendant of his constitutional right to a unanimous jury verdict.  Courtney Knowles was found guilty of raping the daughter of his half-sister/girlfriend. Man Shot On Walker Avenue Friday Night

July Is Record Month For Court-Ordered Restitution In TennCare Fraud Cases

July brought a record for the state’s Office of Inspector General (OIG) in terms of the amount of money people have been ordered to repay the state for TennCare fraud. In July, people convicted of TennCare fraud were ordered to make $154,000 in restitution to TennCare.
