Wednesday Family Night Study Of Healthy Church At Signal Mountain Presbyterian

Wednesday Family Night at Signal Mountain Presbyterian Church, 612 James Blvd,,  will have a winter series on "Nine Marks of a Healthy Church." Dinner is at 5:30 p.m., by reservation, with the program at 6:30 p.m. As we prepare for a season of transition, we must ask ourselves important questions about what binds us together as a church. EachWednesday evening will feature one  key value, one special feature of  Signal Mountain Presbyterian. Our elders, pastors and guest speakers will help us take a close look at the commitments we share. The topic  for Jan,. 15 will be "Life-long Discipleship."

On Sunday, Dr. William Dudley will speak at the worship services on "What Holds You Up?" with text from I Peter 3:13-18.  At 9 a.m. in Dudley Hall David and Kelsey Burke will continue the study of "Spiritual Transformation and Heart Renovation." Scones and more will be provided.


Silverdale Baptist Church Taking Over Ministries At St. Elmo Avenue Baptist Church

The Silverdale Baptist Church plans to acquire the St. Elmo Avenue Baptist Church and continue its various ministries. Closing on the transaction is set for next Monday. Membership at St. Elmo Avenue Baptist Church has dropped to about 30, and the church has been focusing on a variety of ministries. Those include prayer, widows and Hispanic outreach. Work To Start Later This Year On Major Reworking Of U.S. 27 Downtown; 31 Walls To Be Erected As Cameron Hill Faces More Cuts

Work is set to start later this year on the $80 million reworking of U.S. 27 in downtown Chattanooga.
