Lee University has been listed as a College of Distinction once again for the 2014-15 school year. Colleges of Distinction is a website dedicated to honoring schools nationwide for their excellence in student-focused higher education.

Colleges and universities are nominated for participation in Colleges of Distinction through high school counselors’ recommendations as well as quantitative research.

Once nominated, the colleges are assessed using four criteria: level of student engagement, quality of teaching, vibrancy of the college community, and success of graduates. Lee has a profile on the CoD website which highlights how Lee excels in these four categories.

“Lee was selected for providing an innovative, teacher-centered undergraduate education with a strong record of preparing its graduates for real-world success,” said Wes Creel, founder of CoD.

Lee was recognized as a College of Distinction, a Christian College of Distinction, and a Tennessee College of Distinction. Out of all the schools nationwide that were considered this year, less than 60 schools were chosen to be Christian Colleges of Distinction, and only 11 schools were chosen as Tennessee Colleges of Distinction.

“We are pleased to have been selected as a College of Distinction for 2014–2015,” said Vice President for Enrollment Phil Cook. “To be recognized in three separate categories is a noteworthy accomplishment.”
