Bessie J. Maples, 86, of the Dawnville Community in Dalton, GA, passed away Wednesday, October 1, 2014 at the home of her daughter, surrounded by her family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Leo C. Maples; parents, Mr. & Mrs. John Sharp; sister, Jessie Sharp Silvers; and brother, Joe Sharp.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Juanita & Charles Hicks of Cohutta; sister, Johnnie N. Blackwell of the Dawnville Community; grandchildren, Heather Hicks Tate and husband Paul Tate; and nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held Saturday, October 4, at 2 p.m. at the Pleasant Grove Chapel of Julian Peeples Funeral Home with Rev. John Bagley officiating. Burial will be in United Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday, October 4 from 11 a.m.-2 p.m.
Flowers will be accepted to memorial contributions may be made to the Whitfield County Humane Society.
