The UTC Women’s Center and Partnership for Families, Children and Adults will present Take Back the Night on Wednesday, an evening to take a stance against domestic violence and sexual assault. Kate Price, commercial sexual exploitation survivor and WCW Project Associate at Wellesley College, will share her story of survival, while also advocating to end violence against women.
The audience will proceed on a march through Fortwood District to raise awareness about these issues, followed by a candlelight vigil to honor survivors.
The event will begin at UTC’s Oak Street Amphitheater, 752 Vine St. Here is the schedule:
6 p.m. – Performance by local band, Bad Scout
Tabling by UTC campus sponsors and community partners
Glow-in-the-Dark Take Back the Night T-shirts (suggested donation, $5)
Silent Auction (All proceeds from the silent auction will be donated to the Partnership for Families, Children and Adults)
6:35 p.m.- Guest Speaker, Kate Price
7:30 p.m.- March through Fortwood District to take a stand against sexual assault and domestic violence
8 p.m.- Candlelight vigil to honor victims and celebrate survivors
