Patchouli Plays At Charles And Myrtle's Saturday

  • Monday, October 13, 2014

Patchouli will play at Charles and Myrtle's Coffeehouse on Saturday at 8 p.m.  The coffeehouse is inside Christ Unity Church at 105 McBrien Road.  There is a $10 suggested donation at the door.

Review for Patchouli:

Master guitarist, Bruce Hecksel is considered one of the most exciting acoustic lead guitar players of our time. Teamed up with Julie Patchouli, whose crystal pure voice and dynamic percussive guitar sparkle, Patchouli’s sound has been described as “the harmonies of Simon and Garfunkel meet the guitar brilliance of the Gipsy Kings."

Both studied at The Old Town School of Folk Music in Chicago as well as in respective college studies and together are a songwriting powerhouse duo. Fifteen years of non-stop touring the country has honed this classically trained duo into legendary performers, playing over 2,500 shows and traveling over half a million miles.

Patchouli is as busy in the studio as they are on the road. They released a brand new CD “Anything is Possible,” their 16th album recorded together at the beginning of 2013. Their song “The Woods” from the new CD won the “Songs for Trees” award and other tunes are finding their way into commercials.

The duo’s instrumental guitar project Terra Guitarra – “Dragonfly” debuted at #4 on the ZMR World Music Radio Charts and was Nominated ZMR Best Instrumental Acoustic Album of the Year.

Performing their original blend of folk meets flamenco with their blazing guitars and heartstring tugging lyrics Patchouli’s energy and chemistry guarantees to make the night an uplifting one of music that will leave you uniquely inspired and excited to pick that old guitar back up.
