The Ooltewah Harrison Education Foundation's D9 5K Hot Cocoa Run/Walk and Kiddie Run is set for Saturday, Nov. 15, at Veterans Park in Collegedale. This new tradition sponsored by D9 is a family friendly event that encourages all runners and walkers to participate with their families in support of raising money to enrich the public elementary schools in Ooltewah and Harrison.
Prizes will go to the overall male and female. All registrants that complete the run/walk will receive a commemorative medal and T-shirt. Wired Coffee will be there serving hot cocoa and coffee to all of the runners and walkers after the race. For more information please visit www.d9strong.com.
D9 is a newly formed education foundation represents the elementary schools within that congressional district. The organization was developed to enrich the educational and developmental opportunities for the Ooltewah-Harrison elementary public school students by implementing and uniting fundraising efforts. Current membership includes the following elementary schools: Harrison Elementary School, Ooltewah Elementary School, Snow Hill Elementary School, Wallace A. Smith Elementary School, and Wolftever Creek Elementary School.
