World War II Veteran Worked For Fabric Care, Pepsi And RC Cola

John Albert Stephens, 90, died on October 13, 2014 at his residence. 

He was a World War II veteran, serving with the U.S. Army. He was formerly employed with Fabric Care, Pepsi and RC Cola companies. He was a member of New Mount Carmel Church.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Louise Stephens; parents, Jack Caine Stephens and Emma Echols; brothers, Charlie Stephens, Joshua (Ada) Stephens; sister, Grace Dodson.

Survivors include his aunt, Ada Mae Stigall; a host of nieces, nephews. A special acknowledgement to nieces, Joyce Stephens and Marlena Moorer.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, Oct. 17, at 1 p.m. at New Mount Carmel with Pastor Floyd Whiteside officiating. Interment will be on Monday, Oct. 20, at 1:30 p.m.

The body will lie in state after noon on Thursday, Oct. 16, at John P. Franklin Funeral Home, 1101 Dodds Ave., 622-9995.
