  • Wednesday, October 15, 2014

The 2014 Billboard Art Contest is underway and the theme this year is Hamilton Shines: Please Don't Litter.

The art submission deadline is Wednesday, Nov. 5.  The winners will be announced Monday, Nov. 10, and the awards ceremonies will be the week of Nov. 17.

The contest is open to all school-age children. Private schools, home-schooled students, churches, and youth organizations are invited to participate.

One winner will be chosen from each of these age divisions: elementary, middle and high school.  There is a limit of five entries per school or organization.

Artwork may be drawn by hand or computer generated but must be submitted on the proper form.

Judging will be based on creativity and the overall effectiveness of the billboard.  The winning artwork will be featured on a billboard posted near each artist’s school. All entries may be used for promotion with attribution to the artist and school.

Hamilton County Mayor Jim Coppinger will award a plaque, pin and poster-size billboard to the winners of each division during a ceremony at their school.

Entries may be sent via mail, interoffice mail, or delivery to: Gina Hatler, Courthouse, 625 Georgia Ave, Ste 208 Chattanooga. TN 37402.  For more information email ginah@hamiltontn.gov or call 209-6117.
