James H. Davis, 78, of East Ridge, TN, passed away Tuesday, October 14, 2014 at his residence.
He was born in Cleveland, TN and spent the majority of his life in Hamilton County. He was a member of Cowboy Church of Lafayette, GA. He was a strong man of faith, and enjoyed spending time with his girls, grandchildren and friends. He loved motorcycles and was a member of the Goldwing Road Riders Association.
Mr. Davis was preceded in death by his father, Audie Glenn Davis; and his mother, Lillie Mae Dodson Davis.
Survivors include his two daughters, Angela Tobias and husband, Geoffrey of Ringgold, GA and April Michelle Little and husband, Christopher of Rossville, GA; two grandchildren, Brandon Stultz and wife, Christa of Old Elliott City, MD and Christin Hope Little of Rossville, GA; one sister, Ann Davis Wilson and husband, Jack of Hixson, TN; one brother, Van Davis of Boaz, AL; mother of his girls, Nancy Dempsey of Ringgold, GA; and several other extended family members and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted at 7 p.m. Thursday, October 16, in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with Pastor Randy Harden officiating.
Interment will be held at noon Friday, October 17, at the Lee Cemetery with a white dove release ceremony concluding the service. The family and friends will meet at the cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Thursday, October 16 at the Ralph Buckner Funeral Home, who has charge of the arrangements.
