Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductee and Traffic co-founding member Dave Mason will be coming to Chattanooga on Wednesday, Nov. 5, at the UTC Fine Arts Center with his latest project billed as Dave Mason's Traffic Jam.
Review for Dave Mason:
Renowned for such Traffic hits as “Feelin’ Alright” (covered by Joe Cocker) and “Hole In My Shoe” plus his solo signature tracks “We Just Disagree” and “Only You Know and I Know,” Mason's acclaimed solo career continues to flourish as he tours the U.S. with his Traffic Jam shows—earning accolades since kicking off Jan. 3 in Atlantic City, N.J.—and he is excited to perform the music of Traffic.
“I think that it is important to keep alive the legacy of four young men from the heartland of England and their contribution to contemporary music,” says Mason. “And ‘Traffic Jam’--aside from the obvious material--will hopefully grow into the basis for other artists to participate. Keep the spirit alive.”
The iconic singer, songwriter and guitarist released his new album, Future's Past on May 13 featuring new versions of his classic songs plus new materials that he has written and performed on tour over the last few years. The cover art illustration for Future's Past was done by none other than Mr. Graham Nash from a photo he made of Dave while at Nash’s place in Hawaii.
Mason has been touring and recording regularly since he co-founded Traffic in 1966, after which he went on to a successful and acclaimed solo career as well as recording and/or touring with artists including Jimi Hendrix, the Rolling Stones, George Harrison, Delaney & Bonnie, Graham Nash, Paul McCartney, Joe Walsh, Fleetwood Mac and more.
