Rogers, Lonnie Harold (Trenton)

Lonnie Harold Rogers, 83, of Trenton, GA, passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday, October 16, 2014.

He was a self-employed farmer and mechanic, and a Cornerstone Club Member of Peerless Woolen Mills Hutchinson Hospital. Mr. Rogers was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.           

He was preceded in death by his father Lonnie Hobart Rogers; mother, Maria Avans; step-father, Ira Avans; sisters, Faye Maples, Dorothy Rogers, Ruth Laney, Clara Reeves and Ilona Cope; and brothers, Danny Joe Avans and Dub Avans.            

Survivors include his loving wife of 64 years, Nayomia Rogers of Trenton, GA; daughters, Carolyn (Kieran) Nethery of Trenton, GA, Frieda Cloud of Trenton, GA and Teresa (James) Cash of Hixson, TN; son, Lonnie (Cindy) Rogers of Trenton, GA; brother, Curt (Betty Ann) Rogers of Bryant, AL; sister, Vala (Pat) Murphy of Rising Fawn, GA; grandchildren, Matt (Dana) Nethery, Jeremy (Sara) Cloud, Josh Cloud, Jamie (Dan) Varnell, Alan (Sarah) Cash, Lindsay (Steven) Ryan and Laura (Geoff) Oliver; great-grandchildren, Ashley Cloud, Bryce Nethery, Audrey Cloud, Brayden Nethery, Cash Varnell, Carter Ryan, Maclane Cash and Levi Varnell; and several nieces and nephews.           

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions to be made to Sand Mountain Bible Camp, PO Box 1076, Trenton, GA 30752.           

The family would like to extend a special thanks to Life Choice Hospice, especially Stephanie and Misty, for the care given to Mr. Rogers.           

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, October 19, in the chapel with Rev. Phillip Trask, Rev. A.C. Durham, and Rev. Darren Rogers officiating. Interment will follow in Lake Hills Memorial Gardens.

Family will receive friends from 2-8 p.m. on Saturday, October 18 and from noon until service time Sunday, October 19 at Ryan Funeral Home, Trenton, GA.
