Signal Mountain Wins 49-14 At CCS

The Signal Mountain football team rushed for 395 yards Friday night and scored 42 unanswered points to beat CCS 49-14.

Both teams scored on their first two posessions of the game but after the 14-14 tie early in the 2nd quarter, the Signal Mountain defense held the Chargers scoreless.

CCS's Zach Mercer threw two touchown passes.  One was a 53 yard touchdown pass to
Jared Miller and the other a 73 yard pass to Justin Wheeler. Mercer finished 14 of 27 for 233 yards and threw two interceptions.


Signal Mountain's Hunter VanDyken, Tadarius Hodge, Nathan Johnson and Chris Moore rushed for touchdowns with Hodge rushing for two.  

Signal Mountain quarterback Jack Teter threw touchdown pass to Chris Moore for 17 yards and Chris Feemster for one yard.

CCS rushed for only 53 yards.  

Nathan Johnson rushed for 127 yards on 16 carries and Kaleb Menzel rushed for 103 on 14 carries.
