Republicans And Fox News Are Creating An Ebola Crisis

  • Monday, October 20, 2014

It seems that the Republicans and Fox News are at it again.  They are calling for “closing the borders” in order to protect us from the Ebola virus.   They are spreading fear and angst among the populous in order to blame the Obama administration with failing to protect the citizenry.

Isn’t this the same crowd that claimed there were weapons of mass destruction in Iraq to justify the baseless attack on Iraq resulting in thousands of deaths and permanent injuries to our brave soldiers, much less the thousands of Iraqi lives lost and forever changed?   Isn’t this the same crowd that warned us that Y2K would change the world as we know it and that civilization was about to come to an end when the clock struck midnight on January 1, 2000?

Yet it is also the same crowd that denies the clear science of global climate change caused by fossil fuels which could be dramatically cut by common sense conservation and more efficient alternative energy sources.

It is reported that over 46,000 persons annually die from the flu.   If half the time, money and rhetoric were expended on fighting the Ebola virus in Africa as is being spent on the fear mongering in this country over three Ebola cases (only one of which has died and he came to this country severely sick), the virus would be stopped and thousands of African lives saved.
