Several Local Schools Participate In International Walk To School Month

  • Monday, October 20, 2014

This City of Chattanooga and Hamilton County have partnered with Chattanooga area elementary and middle schools for International Walk to School Month.

In the United States, International Walk to School Month is expected to include more than 4,000 events across all 50 states. Walkers from the U.S. will join children and adults in 40 countries around the world.

Walk to School events create awareness of the need to create safe routes for walking and bicycling and emphasize the importance of issues such as increasing physical activity among children, pedestrian safety, and creating connections between families, schools, and the broader community.

Parents, teachers, and community leaders will participate with students at these scheduled Walk to School events in October:
