Reformation Day Lectures To Be Offered At Covenant College, Oct. 27-28

Dr. Carl Trueman, the Paul Woolley professor of church history at Westminster Theological Seminary, will present Covenant College’s annual Reformation Day Lectures on Oct. 27-28.

 

Dr.

Trueman will speak on Monday, at 11 a.m. in the chapel and at 4 p.m. in Sanderson Hall auditorium. On Tuesday, he will speak at 11 a.m. in the chapel.

 

Dr. Trueman earned his MS in classics from the University of Cambridge, and later received his PhD in church history from the University of Aberdeen. In addition to his teaching, he pastors Cornerstone Presbyterian Church in Ambler, PA, and serves as the editor of the journal Themelios. He has authored numerous books, including The Claims of Truth: John Owen’s Trinitarian Theology and The Wages of Spin: Critical Writings on Historic and Contemporary Evangelicalism.

 

“We are excited to welcome Dr. Carl Trueman as the 2014 Reformation Day lecturer,” said Covenant College Chaplain Grant Lowe. “A respected scholar and thinker, Dr. Trueman will share his unique perspective and insight on ‘Martin Luther: Rebel Prophet.’”

 

The Reformation Day Lecture Series is free and open to the public.
