Hazel Norene King Warren, 85, of Fort Oglethorpe, died on Tuesday, October 21, 2014.
Hazel was born in Marshall County, Al., to the late Chester A. and Nellie Buchanan King before becoming a resident of North Georgia, in 1951, and was a member of Friendship Primitive Baptist Church. Hazel worked for many years as a teacher for the Catoosa County School Board and retired from Hamilton Medical Center as a nurse. She was a loving mother, grandmother and sister who will be greatly missed.
Hazel was also preceded in death by her loving husband, Ira C. Warren; sisters, Wilda Rae King, Lois Graham and Gay Nell Johnson; and brother, Verlon C. King.
She is survived by her children, Renee (Arvill) Lawrence of Fort Oglethorpe, Greg (Debbie) Warren of Sale Creek, Clay (Lisa) Warren of Memphis, and Van K. (Sherry)Warren of Euharlee, Ga.; sister, Sheila (Randel) Everett of Dallas; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 27, in the funeral home chapel, with Reverend Eddie Flick officiating. Interment will follow in the Chattanooga National Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 2-6 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 25, 2-8 p.m. on Sunday, and prior to the service on Monday.
