Fire Hall #1 on Carter Street
The Masonic Temple at Seventh and Cherry
The Stokes Photo Collection includes many Chattanooga landmarks that later fell to the wrecking bar.
There are several views of the picturesque Fire Hall #1 on Carter Street.
Also shown is the Masonic Temple that was at Seventh and Cherry. It was designed by architect Samuel Patton, who died in an 1897 fire in Chattanooga. An admirer said, "Some of his conceptions in stone and wood are as unique and as beautiful as dreams."
