The Dalton State volleyball fell in straight sets Saturday afternoon as the Faulkner University Lady Eagles the early season lost to the Lady Roadrunners, 3-0.
The first set was close throughout, but the last Dalton State lead of the game was at 7-6.
Faulkner only led by one at 23-22, but they scored the final two points to close it out, 25-22.
The Lady Roadrunner never had a chance in the second game as the Lady Eagle dominated 25-14.
The third set was tied at 11, but the hosts went on to take a 20-15 lead. Dalton never gave up and pulled to within two at 21-19. That’s when Faulkner scored the final four points to win the game 25-19 and the match.
Savannah Nelson and Alyne Bianchi each scored eight points on the same number of kills. Bianchi and Anna Metzler each had 13 digs. Karly Newman added a dozen digs.
Dalton State (11-10 overall, 7-7 SSAC) returns home to Coach O Court and Bandy Gym on Thursday for a 6:30 p.m. game with Reinhardt University.
