Israeli comedian and writer Benji Lovitt will perform at the Jewish Cultural Center, 5461 North Terrace Road on Saturday, Nov. 1 at 8 p.m.
This performance, is a presentation of the Goldring/Woldenberg Institute of Southern Jewish Life, and marks the first time Mr. Lovitt has been in Chattanooga.
The cost of the performance is $18 which includes snacks and a beverage, and is for ages 21 and older. Seating is limited and reservations are strongly suggested by contacting the Jewish Federation at 493-0270 or resvp@jewishchattanooga.com.
Mr. Lovitt graduated from the University of Texas at Austin and after a five-year stint in the high-tech sector he made the jump into the arts world. Mr. Lovitt is a comedian, writer, and educator whose background in Jewish education and Israel experiences creates a hilarious and informative perspective on Israel today. His standup comedy has been seen in person and online by viewers in Israel, North America, and around the world, and his improvised videos and comedic writing have been featured in publications such as the Times of Israel, the Jerusalem Post, Ynet, PresenTense Magazine, the Jewish Daily Forward and Israel21c, among others.
"His fun and educational workshops expose audiences to the human side of Israeli society not visible on CNN," organizers said.
Mr. Lovitt is a member of the ROI Community, a certified trainer for the PresenTense Group, and has spoken at Limmud conferences around the world.
