Police say a 24-year-old Dayton, Tn., woman was involved in several Chattanooga hold-ups.

Shakiara S. McKensey, of 291 College St., Dayton, was charged with aggravated robbery.

Police on July 11 were notified of a robbery at the Economy Inn at 5505 Brainerd Road.

Leander McClellon, Darla McElroy and John Matthews said a female that McClellon knew named Kyra came to the room. A few minutes later, she opened the door and three black males entered. One was armed with a handgun.

Police said Ms. McElroy was tied up with duct tape and placed in the bathroom.

Matthews was ordered at gunpoint to lie on the bed and cover up with a blanket. The robbers took his keys and driver's license.

McClellon said the suspects took $730 cash from him along with 19 money orders that were $999.99 each.

He said the female was telling the others to hurry up.

There were pieces of duct tape in the room. McClellon had a cut on his face from a knife.

On July 18, Ms. McKensey was taken into custody for a robbery that occurred on Tunnel Boulevard. At the time she was in a stolen vehicle and there were two money orders in the vehicle for $999.99.

She was also identified as a suspect in a similar robbery that took place three hours earlier.

One of the Economy Inn robbery victims "immediately identified" Ms. McKensey as the female who entered the motel room.
