Holly Woodford McDonald, 67, of East Brainerd, died on Monday, October 27, 2014.

Holly was active at Christ United Methodist Church where she also participated in the W.O.W.

Holly received her degree in education and taught school for many years.  She loved playing tennis and traveling, especially to the beach and was an avid paper crafter making personalized cards for those she loved.

Holly was a volunteer with Life Care Center of East Ridge, where she served the residents and staff she loved, and Operation Homefront.

She was a lifetime member of the Girl Scouts and achieved the highest level of honor in the organization.  She also held membership with the Alpha Sigma Tau Sorority and the Daughters of the American Revolution.

Survivors are her husband, Bill McDonald; daughter, Christian McDonald; son, Scott McDonald and his wife, Cathy all of Chattanooga; two loving twin grandchildren, Whit and Kate McDonald; two sisters, Sherry (Bernie) Curlee and Renee (Harold) Hughes, all of Mechanicsville, Va.;  brother, Jon (Lori) Woodford, Royse City, Tx.

Services will be held on Thursday, Oct. 30, at 2 p.m. at Christ United Methodist Church, 8645 E. Brainerd Road, with Reverend Don Allison officiating. Burial will follow in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, 355 Trane Lane, Knoxville, Tn. 37919.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, Oct. 29, from 5-8 p.m. at Heritage Funeral Home, 7454 E. Brainerd Road, and also from 1-1:45 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 30, at the church.
