David Martin, 67, of Signal Mountain, Tennessee, died on Wednesday, October 29, 2014.
He was a member of Mount Carmel Baptist Church and a graduate of Red Bank High School. He retired as chief electrical inspector with the City of Chattanooga. He served many years as president of Lone Oak Elementary School P.T.A., helped organize the Lone Oak Community Center and Volunteer Fire Department. He also served 21 years as Sequatchie County commissioner. He was a member of Alhambra Shrine and Scottish Rite. He served the Lone Oak Community for 40 years. He was the best husband, daddy, and Papaw in the whole wide world.
He was preceded in death by his father, Harley Martin and mother, Johnnie Martin of Signal Mountain.
He is survived by his wife, Ruby; daughter, Robin; granddaughter, Laura Leigh, of Signal Mountain; and brother, Ed (Marilyn) Martin.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, Oct. 31, at 3 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Brother Dean Watters officiating. Burial will be in Sequatchie County Memorial Gardens.
