Southside Council Showcases New Development Bringing 170 Live/Work Units To Southside At November Meeting

  • Wednesday, October 29, 2014

The Chattanooga Area Chamber of Commerce’s Southside Council will discuss the renovation the 20 year vacant, historic Standard Coosa Thatcher cotton mill into 170 work force, rental, live/work, “hard” lofts apartments, designed specifically for and marketed directly to the artist and creative population within the Chattanooga region at its monthly meeting on Nov. 6.

The meeting, will take place from 12-1 p.m. at green|spaces at 63 E. Main Street.  Attendees are invited to come early and stay late for networking.

Tim Boyle, president of City Property Company, will deliver the keynote presentation. The discussion will cover:

?      $35 Million Renovation Plans for site at Dodds Ave and Watkins Street

?      Challenges and Opportunities of the project

?      Renderings of Proposed Project

"This could bring dynamism back to the community,” said Mr. Boyle. “This will be transformational to the neighborhood. I’ve found that when you bring economic development to a community, the crime goes out.”

The Southside Council meetings, which take place the first Thursday of each month, are open to Chattanooga Chamber members and non-members. The meetings cost $10 for members and non-members. Lunch is provided.
