The Soddy-Daisy Punkin Festival and 2nd Annual 5k Run will be held Saturday at the Soddy Lake Park for a day of fun, music, sports, games, vendors and pumpkins.
Organized by the Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 942, the event features a one-mile Fun Walk and 5K Run to benefit the Ronald McDonald House. It begins at 10 a.m. in old town Soddy off of Depot Street.
Take the most northern Soddy-Daisy exit Hixson Pike from US-27 and turn right on Dayton Pike to the lake and Kid’s Club park area.
Highlights of the day include local musicians and a firefighters’ muster competition along with food and crafts. The regular Saturday Farmer’s Market will move to this site for the day providing the opportunity for local produce and wares.
The Punkin Festival is from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Soddy-Daisy is a municipality in northern Hamilton County tucked into the mountains of the Cumberland Plateau that features small town living and a natural setting of the lake, creeks and countryside.
