At the Dollar General on Hixson Pike, employees said Deanna Boyd was seen taking items. When accosted, she began yelling at employees.

She went to her vehicle, and she was told to get off the lot.

When she did not, an officer arrived. When checking her ID, he noticed another woman's wallet in her purse.

Store employees said it belonged to a regular customer, Margaret Buckner. Ms. Buckner returned to the store to get her wallet. She said she remembered having it in her buggy, and Ms. Boyd going by her in an aisle.

Ms. Buckner said she did not want to prosecute for theft, but police took Ms. Boyd to the jail on a charge of public intoxication.
