Coaching staffs for the 2014 Toyota East-West All-Star football game have been announced. This year’s event, coordinated by the Tennessee Athletic Coaches Association (T.A.C.A.), will take place Friday, Dec. 12, at Overall Field on the campus of Tennessee Tech in Cookeville.
Serving as head coach of the East team will be Greg Wyant, head coach at Siegel High School in Murfreesboro.
His staff includes Rob Black of Fulton (Knoxville), Lamar Brown of Morristown West (Morristown), Keith Henry of Coalfield (Coalfield), William Henry of Siegel (Murfreesboro), Tracy Malone of East Ridge (Chattanooga), Grant Reynolds of Boyd Buchanan (Chattanooga) and Shawn Witten of Elizabethton (Elizabethton).
Leading the West staff will be Rodney Saulsberry of Whitehaven High School in Memphis. His staff consists of Tony Brunetti of Pearl Cohn, (Nashville) Blake Butler of Trinity Christian Academy (Jackson), Wade Comer of McKenzie (McKenzie), Clarence Dillard of Whitehaven (Memphis), Todd Hood of Clarksville Academy (Clarksville), Chris Hughes of Fairview (Fairview) and Major Wright of Raleigh Egypt (Memphis).
Nomination forms were sent to coaches across the state earlier this week. Selection meetings are scheduled for early November.
The annual event features some of the state’s highest profile players, many who have gone on to play in the SEC and the NFL. The game will again be telecast over a statewide network. Member stations include MyNetwork stations in Knoxville, Nashville, and Chattanooga, along with WAPK in the Tri Cities.
