A Chattanooga woman was arrested on Wednesday after police said she tried to steal a man's car then dragged him down the road when he tried to stop her.

According to police, Catherine Dial-Boyd, 43, drove up to a home on Orchard Knob Avenue and got into an argument with William Nelson soon after.

At this point, Mr. Nelson told police that Ms. Boyd jumped into a Jaguar owned by his friend Marcell Sanders and started to drive away.

Mr.

Nelson said he jumped on the hood of his car in an attempt to stop her. He said he yelled at her to get out of his car.

Mr. Nelson said that as soon as she stopped, he got down and opened the passenger door.

However, he said that when he was halfway in the vehicle, Ms. Boyd started to speed down the road.

When she came to a stop, witnesses said they saw Mr. Nelson roll several times. He was unresponsive when they found him. He was dragged more than 50 yards.

Mr. Nelson was taken to Erlanger Hospital.

Ms. Boyd was arrested and charged with aggravated assault.
