Dalton State Volleyball Earns SSAC Road Win Over Bethel

McKenzie, TN – It was another hard fought match Saturday afternoon as the Dalton State volleyball Roadrunners knocked off Bethel University 3-1 at Crisp Arena.

“I’m pretty excited about today,” said Dalton State Coach Bruna Langner. “We didn’t play 100 percent today against a good team at their home, but we still won.”

 Savannah Nelson and Kianna Delaney each had a dozen kills for the Lady Roadrunners.

Alyne Bianchi had 10 kills and eight digs. Wendy Perez nine kills, and Anna Metzler tallied 8 kills and 15 digs.  Setter Michala Askew tallied 46 of Dalton State’s 47 assists.

 Bethel’s Rachel Woody had a game high 20 kills.

 Dalton State’s Anna Metzler injured her ankle while running after the match had ended. Coach Langner said the freshman should be okay. She has a few extra days to get better. The next DS game is on Tuesday, Oct. 14, at Reinhardt University in Waleska.

Martin Methodist bested Brenau in straight sets - 25-19, 25-19, 25-18.  It took four sets for the University of Mobile to beat Belhaven – 25-15, 25-19, 23-25, 27-25. Faulkner took a t 4-1 win from Loyola – 25-17, 25-12, 17-25, 25-15. Milligan swept Tennessee Wesleyan – 25-16, 25-15, 25-16.
