Navy Veteran Was Co-Owner Of Ledford And Sons Dairy

James Richard “Bud” Ledford, 87, of Chattanooga died on Sunday, October 5, 2014 in a local hospital. 

Bud was of the Baptist faith. He was a U.S. Navy veteran and along with his father and brother owned and operated Ledford and Sons Dairy on Browntown Road.  Bud retired from Norfolk Southern Railroad with 30 years of service and continued to farm until his death.  

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mable; parents, James and Louise Ledford; son, James (Buddy) Ledford; brother, Robert (Bob) Ledford and granddaughter, Tammy Miller. 

He is survived by his daughter, Pam (Tommy) Lewis; granddaughter, Missy (Chris) Miller; two great-grandchildren, Jessica (Jordan) Hammons and Joanna Miller; two great-great-grandchildren, Jalyn and Julian Hammons and several nieces and nephews. 

Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 8, in the chapel of Lane Funeral Home, Ashland Terrace with Pastor Roger Redmond officiating.
